About the Role

Description

Job Summary: We are currently seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team. As a Medical Assistant, you will work alongside healthcare professionals to provide high-quality care to our patients. Your duties will include performing clinical and administrative tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our occupational medicine clinic.


Schedule: PRN, as needed (weeknights 6:00 PM-7:00 AM, weekends 7:00 AM-7:00 PM and 7:00 PM-7:00 AM)

Compensation: Starting compensation range $21.00 - $24.00 hourly. Exact compensation may vary based on experience, skills, certifications, and location.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with scheduling appointments, managing patient records, assisting with billing and coding tasks
  • Answering phone calls and responding to patient inquiries
  • Verifying insurance coverage and processing insurance claims
  • Performing basic clinical tasks, such as taking vital signs and administering medications
  • Assisting our providers with drug testing, physical evaluations, drawing blood samples and other clinical duties
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization in the back office and exam rooms
  • Interact in a positive and constructive manner
  • Providing patient education and answering patient questions
  • Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations and ethical standards
  • Follow company policies, procedures, and directives
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure the smooth operation of the practice
  • Assisting with medical procedures as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and medications
  • Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Previous experience as a medical assistant preferred
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant program preferred
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred
  • Spanish speaking preferred
