About the Role

Your role at St John of God Subiaco Hospital

We are seeking applications for a Registered Nurse to join our Day Surgery Ward at Subiaco on a casual basis.

Our Ward is a 46-bed combined DOSA and Day Surgery Unit providing preoperative and postoperative care to surgical patients in a wide range of surgical specialities.  These include Cardiology, Orthopaedic, ENT, Vascular, Gynaecology, Plastics and General Surgery.

As a member of our Day Surgery team, you will provide exceptional care to patients undergoing a range of surgical procedures while ensuring that their experience aligns with the values that define our hospital. Your role will include patient assessment, preoperative education and post-surgical care with a focus on fostering a supportive and safe environment for all patients.

The Position

  • Deliver outstanding patient care in the Day Surgery Unit, ensuring patients are treated with dignity and respect.

  • Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to provide optimal outcomes for patients.

  • Be a patient advocate, ensuring that their rights are upheld and their voices are heard.

  • Promote a welcoming, compassionate environment for patients and their families.

  • Demonstrate excellence in clinical practice, ensuring the highest standards of care are met.

  • Assist in managing patient flow and provide pre and post-operative care.

You will hold current registration with Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse. Previous experience in perioperative nursing or in a surgical/critical care environment is preferred but not essential.

To succeed you will have excellent communication skills with a genuine passion for providing exceptional care to patients. You will have a proactive and compassionate approach to care with an ability to work effectively within a team.

We can offer you

  • Hourly rate: $50.29 to $64.35 (inclusive of casual loading) plus 12% superannuation
