POSITION SUMMARY

The Truck Driver is responsible for performing a range of routine and complex transportation duties, including driving and coordinating delivery operations in support of the Pro-2-Go Department. This role ensures the safe, efficient, and timely delivery of LP-Gas cylinders to customers within the assigned service area.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Filling LP-Gas cylinders in accordance with company procedures and safety regulations
  • Loading and unloading LP-Gas cylinders safely and efficiently
  • Delivering LP-Gas cylinders to commercial and industrial customers within an assigned service area
  • Planning and organizing delivery routes to ensure the most economical use of time and equipment
  • Performing routine vehicle inspections and preventive maintenance checks
  • Conducting all duties in compliance with applicable safety, security, and regulatory standards
  • Completing required documentation and delivery records accurately
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor


Requirements

 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • High school diploma or GED preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience 
  • Minimum of one (1) year of relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position 
  • Valid Class A State Driver’s License with HazMat and Tanker endorsements 
  • Thorough knowledge of traffic laws, DOT regulations, and defensive driving practices 
  • Demonstrated ability to safely operate and maneuver various types of vehicles 
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, customers, and the general public 
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing 
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and exercise sound judgment 
  • Ability to perform heavy manual labor under varying weather and environmental conditions 
  • Ability to consistently handle 100–200 LP-Gas cylinders per day 
  • Ability to repeatedly lift, move, and handle cylinders weighing approximately 40–60 pounds 
  • Ability to make independent decisions and judgments that have a moderate operational impact on the organization

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, speak, and hear. The employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls, and to reach with hands and arms. The employee may occasionally be required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and walk.


The position requires consistent lifting and movement of LP-Gas cylinders weighing 40–60 pounds, with occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.


The employee frequently works outdoors in varying weather conditions. Exposure may occasionally include wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, vibration, and moving mechanical equipment. Noise levels are generally quiet in office settings and moderately loud in field environments.
