Job Purpose / Summary:
The Outside Sales Representative (OSR) conducts sales out in the field via face-to-face interactions with both potential and existing customers. They are responsible for offering the best possible customer experience for external customers, providing solutions for customers, explaining existing or new products, and serving as the main point of contact for the company for external customers. They are responsible for deploying local sales strategies and tactics while meeting assigned accounts/territory revenue, product margins, and T&E budgetary goals. This role focuses on promoting polished concrete systems, epoxy and resinous coatings, surface preparation equipment, diamond tooling, chemicals, and related consumables.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Prospect, develop, and manage relationships with new and existing customers, including:
- Polished concrete contractors
- Epoxy and resinous flooring installers
- General contractors and facility managers
- Grow territory revenue through consistent outbound calling, jobsite visits, and account planning
- Identify project opportunities from bid stage through completion
- Present and sell complete systems including:
- Polished concrete processes
- Epoxy, polyaspartic, and urethane coatings
- Surface preparation equipment and tooling
- Chemicals such as densifiers, guards, and sealers
Customer Support & Technical Engagement
- Conduct on-site product demonstrations and equipment trials
- Provide technical guidance on system selection, product usage, and application best practices
- Assist customers with troubleshooting and problem-solving in the field
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate order fulfillment and customer satisfaction
Territory & Activity Management
- Maintain a structured weekly schedule including jobsite visits, store visits, and prospecting
- Track all customer interactions, opportunities, and pipeline activity using CRM tools
- Submit call reports, forecasts, and activity summaries as required
- Coordinate with inside sales, warehouse, and service departments to support customers
Brand & Market Development
- Represent the company professionally at trade shows, customer appreciation events, and training sessions
- Promote manufacturer partners and company-supported brands
- Stay current on industry trends, competitive products, and emerging technologies
Qualifications & Education Requirements:
To perform the job successfully, an individual must have the following:
- 2+ years of outside sales experience in construction, industrial supply, flooring, or building materials
- 2+ years of understanding of concrete flooring, coatings, or surface preparation (or willingness to learn quickly)
- Knowledge of grinding and polishing equipment, diamond tooling, and concrete chemicals
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel extensively within territory
- Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Self-directed with excellent time management and organizational skills
Preferred- Experience calling on contractors, job sites, and construction decision-makers
- CRM experience and comfort with reporting and pipeline management

Physical & Work Requirements
- Ability to lift and move products or samples (up to 50 lbs)
- Frequent travel by vehicle and occasional overnight travel
- Ability to work in jobsite environments, including industrial and construction settings
Travel Required:
- 80% Travel with overnight stay(s)
