The GE Aerospace Engineering Team is looking for experienced mechanical design engineers who are ready to work on the fastest growing engine in Aviation history, GE9X. The GE9X engine is forecasted to enter service in 2025, creating a generational opportunity to be part of a team introducing a widebody aircraft and engine system to the field. <br><br>Better fuel burn. Our customers are hungry for the 20% fuel burn advantage that the combined system provides, with flight range that enables flights between city pairs that simplify intercontinental travel. <br><br>As a Lead Engineer, you will be contributing to the design and development of products, solutions and systems. This position includes activities linked to technical improvement of existing products and components impacts departmental operations and responsible for planning/execution. As part of the GE9X HPT Integrated design and Build team, you will be on the mechanical design team responsible for the Turbine Airfoils design focused on machining and coatings. This role will transition to Integrated Manufacturing Engineering as each Part Family achieves design maturity and configuration stability. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Some judgment may be required but this is typically with guidance.<p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><h1><span class="emphasis-3"><b>Job Description</b></span></h1><p><u><b>Roles and Responsibilities</b></u></p><ul><li><p>Conceptual or theoretical activities related to the principles of engineering, physics, and materials science for the design, analysis, manufacturing, and maintenance of mechanical systems. Includes the analysis of static (structural) and dynamic (rotor dynamics, vibrations) behavior of mechanical systems</p></li><li><p>Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market</p></li><li><p>Uses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.</p></li><li><p>Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements. Explains information, developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><u><b>Required Qualifications</b></u></p><ul><li><p>Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college</p></li><li><p>Minimum of 3 years of experience in design engineering</p></li><li><p>Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
