We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position in the School of Education and Languages:
Major Duties and Responsibilities
The appointee will mainly assist the Principal Investigator in a research project “Empowering mathematics teachers: a professional development programme to enhance AI literacy”. The appointee will be responsible mainly for the following:
- Developing an AI-integrated professional development programme for secondary mathematics teachers (five 3-hour sessions) to equip teachers’ AI literacy. The topics include ‘Understanding AI Fundamentals and Ethics and Responsibility in AI Use’; ‘Effective Use of AI in Mathematics Teaching’; ‘Applications of AI Tools for Mathematics Teaching’; ‘Pedagogical Integration of AI and Assessment in the Age of AI’ and ‘Integrated Project and Presentation’.
- Meeting with the research team regularly to determine the scope of the programme materials and to enhance the programme;
- Reviewing students’ works and feedback to improve the programme; and
- Exploring suitable AI tools or platform for mathematics teachers.
The appointee shall be required to develop the programme between December 2025 and March 2026. The programme materials shall be written in billingual. The appointee shall also be attend evaluation meeting with the research team.
Candidates
Candidates are expected to possess the following:
- A recognized Bachelor’s degree or above in mathematics, mathematics education, computer sciences or other the relevant areas;
- Excellent AI knowledge in mathematics education;
- At least 5 years teaching experience in secondary school; and
- Fluent in both written English and traditional Chinese.
Terms and Conditions for Appointment
Successful candidate will be appointed on a freelance basis.
