About the Role

Company Description

Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

We are looking for a Security Systems Coordinator to join our Symonds Street office in central Auckland. This role is key to maintaining and improving the University’s security systems, ensuring reliable service and strategic support for our community.

You will oversee the performance of electronic security systems, including CCTV, access control, key management, and intercoms. Your focus will be on monitoring system health, identifying risks early, and reporting issues before they escalate. You’ll ensure systems are correctly configured for daily operations and respond promptly during emergencies. In addition, you’ll recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and reliability.

Day-to-day, you will support the Access Control and Control Centre teams to meet high service standards. This includes managing electronic security records, ensuring accurate data storage and compliance with University policies. You’ll assist with incident investigations, enabling swift resolution aligned with best practice. You will also maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ensuring version control and consistency across all storage platforms.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Promoting best practices to maintain a safe and secure environment, reducing harm and protecting University assets.
  • Monitoring systems and compliance through audits, supporting incident response, and escalating improvement opportunities to Security Services Management.
  • Enhancing operational effectiveness by assisting with investigations, analysing data, ensuring service compliance, and supporting staff training and development.

This is a permanent, full-time position (37.5 hours per week). The salary range for this role is $77,000 to $85,000, negotiable depending on skills and experience.
