QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in International Business, Broadcasting & Television, Marketing, Digital Platforms or another related field is required
- Five to seven years of work experience in Sports Media or Sports Marketing with a solid understanding of the fundamentals and higher functions of the work
- Prior experience working with a U.S.-based company either in Japan or the U.S.
- Strong understanding of data analytics and confidence presenting the data to internal stakeholders
- Advanced Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills, with prior experience creating presentations for senior management
- Written and spoken fluency in both English and Japanese with cross-cultural skills
- Strong work ethic with an ability to lead projects and develop ideas independently
- Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to work in a matrix organization that spans multiple offices in different time zones
- Integrity befitting PGA TOUR’s high standards
- Knowledge of the game of golf preferred, but not required
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
- Manage all aspects of existing media partnerships on a day-to-day basis, including tracking partners’ weekly broadcast plans, fulfillment of partner obligations, communicating results and trends internally, and supporting new business development efforts
- Develop and maintain a complete understanding of existing deals, as well as OTT product development and strategies in key markets
- Work very closely with Discovery Golf to understand and support the GOLFTV platform
- Work directly with the International Media Data Analyst to interpret and analyze GOLFTV data
- Work with Headquarter supervisor and related teammates to establish partnership goals, identify success metrics, and providing regular reporting
- Work with individual clients to support our programming and to increase coverage and service levels across relevant territories
- Collaborate and communicate cross-functionally with International Media, International Content and International Marketing to ensure partners rights are reflected and delivered upon
- Report progress, performance and partnership updates internally across the TOUR for each market overseen
- Research the media landscape in key territories and our audience characteristics to increase our knowledge base to help all facets of TOUR business
- Work collaboratively with the entire Tokyo team and International Client Services team at HQ
- Support the development and launch of new non-media golf initiatives and products that PGA TOUR and media partners co-operate together in market
- Assist in the development of local media marketing strategy with direction from supervisors to support partners and grow awareness of PGA TOUR content
- Work to leverage and customize any PGA TOUR inventory for maximum promotional impact
- Work with partners and the Content team to constantly formulate new content ideas that leverage existing distribution platforms and channels to drive PGA TOUR fan-base growth and golf participation in the market
- In coordination with the Content team, develop strategies for localizing content on global PGA TOUR social and digital accounts for consumption on Japanese handles and platforms, including GOLFTV powered by PGA TOUR
- Assist partners’ PGA TOUR marketing efforts and provide reporting on the results
- Special projects or other duties as assigned
