As a Privacy Product Manager within the Microsoft AI (MAI) organization, you will work across our portfolio of products and services to manage the strategy and execution of the privacy program.
You will collaborate with engineering to inform and promote transparency, choice, and privacy management experiences that influence Microsoft’s collection and use of personal data. You will contribute and implement organization-wide processes for incorporating privacy into the product development cycle and engineering systems.
We are searching for a Senior Privacy Product Manager to help complement daily execution of MAI and Microsoft privacy strategy, to monitor and assure privacy standards are met and help develop guidance and advise engineering teams where Microsoft’s Privacy Standards are outpaced by MAI innovation. The right person has a passion for deeply understanding customer needs, protecting customer rights, and enabling the business. Candidates should have proven experience applying privacy requirements to engineering solutions going beyond standard risk and compliance management.

Starting January 26, 2026, Microsoft AI (MAI) employees who live within a 50- mile commute of a designated Microsoft office in the U.S. or 25-mile commute of a non-U.S., country-specific location are expected to work from the office at least four days per week. This expectation is subject to local law and may vary by jurisdiction.
Responsibilities
- Be the privacy advisor to engineering teams. Apply your privacy knowledge and background in developing user consents, data collection requirements, recommending data storage and processing, and ensuring MAI products and services meet privacy requirements and business objectives.
- Translate privacy regulations and standards into actionable requirements.
- Create and execute privacy compliance plans, working across compliance, organization, business, and engineering teams to ensure deliverables are met.
- Identify, drive adoption of, and monitor the implementation of new and existing controls as needed for compliance or new regulations.
- Develop and maintain standards and policies, such as risk assessment templates, audit frameworks, oversight expectations, and reporting metrics.
- Help educate teams and drive compliance as a mindset across engineering and research teams. Identify and drive compliance program improvements, including process improvements, tooling requirements, and opportunities to improve the experience for engineers.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree AND 5+ years experience in product/service/project/program management or software development
- OR equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience managing privacy, security, or audit compliance related engineering programs.
- IAPP Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP).
- Practical experience creating and maintaining compliance programs and conducting privacy reviews.
- 3+ years of experience demonstrating team and project management excellence in medium-large scale projects including managing a scope, schedule, and budget.
- 3+ years demonstrated technical and/or feature program management.

Product Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
