About the Role

Company Description

Shawnee Animal Clinic is a growing, family-oriented practice with wonderful clients. We currently have eight doctors of veterinary medicine and over sixty support staff between our hospital, grooming facility, and boarding and training facility. Our team is like our family, and we are looking for individuals who are self-starters, have a willingness to learn, and can multi-task in a fast-paced veterinary hospital.

Job Description

Join a supportive team in a high-end, modern environment. Pet Groomers will perform top quality grooms in a timely manner. Groomers should have current grooming experience and be able to consistently provide dogs, cats, and parents with a high level of gentle and professional care. Job duties may include but not limited to:

  • Clean the pet's teeth
  • Maintain an upbeat attitude
  • Calm an anxious dog or cat
  • Ensure company policies are being followed
  • Communicate effectively with clients to find out what is needed.
  • Shampoo and wash a pet's hair or fur
  • Create a welcoming environment for pets and their owners
  • Cut or shave a dog or cat's hair or fur

Qualifications

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED equivalent

  • Proficient at Grooming (At least 6 months professional experience)
    • Applicants that have experience with and feel comfortable grooming sedated patients preferred
  • Ability to lift dogs that weigh up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work in a professional manner
  • Calming presence to pets
  • Ability to stand on your feet for long periods of time
  • Great communication skills
  • Ability to work on a team
