JOB DESCRIPTION

 Position title: Release Management Analyst
Reports to: Project Management Office (PMO) Supervisor
FLSA status: Exempt

Position Summary
The Release Management Analyst at Your Health Idaho is responsible for overseeing the planning, scheduling and coordination of software releases for the Your Health Idaho exchange technology platform. The Release Manager/Scrum Master works with both business and technical teams to plan, track, and deliver releases in alignment with the organization’s priorities. 

Responsibilities (Position may include additional functions not listed) 

  • Facilitate scrum events such as daily standups, and planning and prioritization meetings.
  • Work closely with Product Management to understand priorities, milestones, and work estimates.
  • Ensure that the scrum board is up-to-date and prioritized, and ensure improvements are implemented.
  • Facilitate meetings and communication between product owner stakeholders and development team members to ensure the highest value work is top priority in the backlog.
  • Create and manage project documentation, calendars, and release dashboards (JIRA, Confluence).
  • Own the end-to-end release process, including scheduling, coordination, communication, and execution of releases across business and technical teams.
  • Partner with product owners, QA, DevOps, and business stakeholders to plan, track, and deliver releases in alignment with roadmap priorities.
  • Coordinate Product Backlog with key stakeholders for prioritization.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with quality analysts, business analysts, and other internal roles to ensure cohesive interpretation of the release plan and scope.
  • Facilitate release readiness reviews, Go/No-Go meetings, and post-release retrospectives.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks, conflicts, and dependencies related to release activities.
  • Ensure compliance with agile best practices, including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Champion process improvements for release management to enhance efficiency, predictability, and quality.
  • Communicate release statuses, risks, or issues with leadership from initial planning through deployment and post-release stabilization.
  • Provide support on new initiatives and work with staff as necessary to resolve issues.
  • Define and standardize key product metrics for clarity and consistency. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications (Required knowledge, skills, abilities, education, experience, etc.)

  • Bachelor’s degree in software development, product engineering, or related discipline
  • 3+ years’ experience in Product Operations, Product Management, Program Management, or a similar cross-functional leadership role.
  • An Agile certificate, such as the PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) or certified as a Professional Scrum Master (PSM) or Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) a plus
  • Strong understanding of agile frameworks (Scrum, SAFe, Kanban) and release management best practices.
  • Proven experience functioning within the software development life cycle
  • Exceptional customer service skills including an aptitude and temperament for technical systems development.
  • Experience using the Atlassian suite of products as well as participating in the software development lifecycle through Agile methodologies. 
  • Experience optimizing complex enterprise systems.
  • Expertise in cloud-based architectures, AI-driven troubleshooting, and DevOps methodologies. 
  • Advanced knowledge of IT software, hardware, and network setup
  • Ability to research, define and analyze business problems
  • Knowledge of software development and maintenance methodologies
  • Proficient with Windows and web-based systems including Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio
  • Critical thinking abilities to take complex, ambiguous, abstract requirements and break them into smaller components, patterns, views and features
  • Ability to effectively communicate business concepts to technical audiences as well as technical and data concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Strong analytical, technical, and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication as well as business writing skills
  • Proven ability in relationship building and facilitation
  • Ability to adhere to strict confidentiality policies and procedures consistent with the values and integrity of YHI.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a fast-paced, quickly evolving organization, manage multiple complex priorities and respond effectively to change.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and under tight deadlines.
  • A committed self-starter with exceptional interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication skills with ability to develop and maintain cooperative and productive work relationships.

Physical & Other Requirements 

  • Ability to work in office and workshop settings. Frequent facilitation of meetings, workshops, or group meetings. Use of normal office machines and specialized audio-visual equipment for presentations.
  • Ability to listen to and understand others as well as ability to give and receive instructions via telephone, computer messages, face-to-face, and in writing. Must possess the ability to write and compose correspondence, memorandums, and reports manually and via computer or email as well as be able to make presentations.
  • Availability to work additional hours and evenings or weekends as projects demand. Some travel may be required.
