Our vision is to give users continuous access to credit and keep them engaged with relevant, timely offers that enhance their financial journey throughout their experience with Upstart.</p> <p>As a Software Engineer at Upstart, you will play a role in shaping how we drive growth and engagement through intelligent targeting, seamless offer presentation, and strategic product recommendations. You’ll be responsible for enhancing our logged in user dashboard, optimizing out-of-funnel cross-sell strategies, and advancing our efforts by improving data collection, pricing orchestration, and personalized offer experiences. Your work will directly contribute to increasing customer lifetime value and helping more people access the right financial products at the right time.</p> <p><strong>How you’ll make an impact</strong></p> <ul> <li>Design and implement features that support intelligent, personalized offer recommendations to our user base</li> <li>Work with Product Managers, Product Designers, Research Scientists, and Marketing Managers to design and deliver high-quality products</li> <li>Leverage experimentation and data-driven insights to refine growth strategies, optimizing engagement and conversion through continuous testing, iteration, and personalization.</li> <li>Promote a culture of technical excellence focused on providing high quality solutions and incrementally enhance systems with each pull request.</li> </ul> <p>.<strong>Minimum Qualifications&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field</li> <li>5+ years of experience in software development with the ability to operate in a full stack capacity</li> <li>Experience in product oriented teams with quantifiable customer impact</li> <li>Experience designing, developing, and deploying scalable microservices-based applications</li> </ul> <p><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li>Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field</li> <li>Experience with growth engineering product stacks (Optimizations, Experimentation, Personalization, Recommendation Systems, etc)</li> <li>Experience with Ruby on Rails, Kotlin, or React</li> </ul> <p><strong>Position location</strong> This role is available in the following locations: Remote</p> <p><strong>Travel requirements</strong> As a digital first company, the majority of your work can be accomplished remotely. The majority of our employees can live and work anywhere in the U.S but are encouraged to to still spend high quality time in-person collaborating via regular onsites. Your actual base pay will depend on your geographic location–with our “digital first” philosophy, Upstart uses compensation regions that vary depending on location. Individual pay is also determined by job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
