About the Role

You will play a leading role in designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing cloud-native infrastructure and operational automation across Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and OpenShift Private Cloud environments.

This role requires deep technical expertise in infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring and observability, incident response, and container orchestration. You will support high availability, scalability, compliance, and operational excellence across mission-critical digital services—while coaching team members, improving reliability practices, and influencing engineering culture.

Qualifications & Requirements

Must-Have

  • 5+ years of professional experience as an SRE, DevOps Engineer, Platform Engineer, or Cloud Infrastructure Engineer.

  • Advanced experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and OpenShift Private Cloud.

  • Hands-on expertise with Kubernetes (GKE), OpenShift, and container orchestration.

  • Strong experience with IaC tools such as Terraform or GCP Deployment Manager.

  • Proficiency in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Cloud Build, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or OpenShift Pipelines.

  • Deep knowledge of monitoring and logging systems (Prometheus, Grafana, Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, PagerDuty).

  • Experience developing automation scripts and operational tooling.

  • Solid understanding of cloud security best practices, compliance requirements, and vulnerability scanning.

  • Strong ability to lead post-incident reviews and implement systematic improvements.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills within cross-functional teams.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with BC Gov OpenShift Private Cloud environments.

  • Experience with Apache Solr in a containerized environment.

  • Familiarity with Scrum@Scale or Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).

  • Experience working in public-sector, enterprise, or highly regulated environments.

  • Scripting experience (e.g., Python, Bash, Go).

  • Infrastructure cost optimization experience.
