As the business expands, we are pleased to announce an incredibly exciting opportunity to be part of Qatar Airways Cargo’s Operations team in Doha as a Head of Global Cargo Operations

About the role

In this role, you will oversee, standardize and continuously improve global cargo operations, in close collaboration with the Regional Managers Cargo Operations assigned to each region, by centrally controlling and driving overall global performance management.

As part of your role, your additional responsibilities will include the following:

Strategic:

  • Develop and implement the current Operations strategy required to fulfil and align the vision for the Operations department provided by VP Cargo Operations.
  • Ensure overall cost of the global operation meets budget expectations.
  • Lead the efforts to break regional silos and standardize the operation across the globe.
  • Ensure operational readiness to meet service promise associated to commercial requirements.
  • Centralize control and oversight of operational performance, tactical steering and continuous improvement.
  • Defines standards and performance management framework required to manage current Operations globally.

Operational

  • Acts as the final point of escalation for global operations prior to engaging senior/executive leadership.
  • Accountable for the operational performance of all regions within the network.
  • Define and control the pipeline of regional initiatives involved in the continuous improvement of the global operation.
  • Responsible for achieving the global C/ATK targets, as deemed by management.
  • Responsible for cost control framework that enables global cost oversight, deviation management and budget compliance.
  • Ensure all audits, audit findings and AQDs are correctly addressed and corrective actions are implemented, monitored and executed as per plan.

About you

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with minimum 10 years of job-related experience
  • Global Cargo Operations Management experience, managing large teams across multiple geographical regions
  • Working knowledge of Operations Performance Management and Ground handling/Ramp/Cargo Warehouse Operations
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills
  • Excellent relationship building, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Experience in working extensively with cross- functional teams, in a faced- paced working environment, managing multiple, time- sensitive deliverables and competing priorities
  • Ability and dedication to work with data, drive digitization and innovation and promote change management
