Your Role
In your daily job you will:
- Perform 2D and 3D mechanical design for automotive components in accordance with customer and internal requirements.
- Prepare and release customer-responsive drawings, specifications, and preliminary Bills of Materials (BOM).
- Maintain and update GSD data and related engineering databases to ensure data accuracy and traceability.
- Conduct design reviews and support lesson-learned activities to enhance design quality and development efficiency.
- Manage Engineering Change Request (ECR) and Engineering Change Notice (ECN) processes throughout product development and mass production phases.
- Support mechanical development activities in collaboration with product engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams.
- Ensure effective technical communication and coordination with Aptiv global engineering teams and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Comply with internal engineering standards, development processes, and documentation requirements.
Your Background
Key ingredients for succeeding in this role are your:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Experience in 2D/3D mechanical design within the automotive or manufacturing industry.
- Proficiency in mechanical CAD tools (e.g., CATIA, NX, Creo, or equivalent).
- Experience in preparing engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation for customer release.
- Knowledge of ECR/ECN processes and engineering change management.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with a structured approach to problem-solving.
- Effective communication skills in a global engineering environment.
