SUMMARY

 

The Supervisor has full responsibility for the daily operation of the manufacturing plant including production of orders, scheduling, enforcement of company policies, and coordination of all projects. Overseas all production related employees, by maintaining good employee relations, and fostering a well-trained and motivated staff. Focus on high quality products, paying special attention to customers’ requirements and satisfaction.

$67,033 - $101,404 / Yearly plus 10% Annual Bonus

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides direction, feedback and supervises 20-40 production employees during the manufacturing of steel products, oversees changeovers, packaging, coil loading and unloading.
  • Analyzes department needs. Assigns tasks and projects to staff and determines most effective methods for completing them on a timely basis.
  • Ensure a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all PPE, LOTO, control points, and equipment.
  • Monitors production schedule and workflows to maximize efficiency.
  • Ensures employees are cross-trained for optimal product output and coverage.
  • Maintains and approves timecards, coordinates attendance, time off requests, and payroll processes.
  • Plans and monitors production standards and perform quality-control checks.
  • Inspect equipment and machinery regularly to ensure safe and good working order and coordinates maintenance and repairs as needed.
  • Compiles and present production reports for Work-In-Progress, Production Downtime and Volume, and Production Costs

 

SAFETY
  • Ensure a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all PPE, LOTO, control points, and equipment.
  • Keeps assigned work area clean at all times
  • Understands all safety devices and their operation. Notifies management if safety devices are malfunctioning or missing prior to operation
  • Safely operates all lifting devices per manufacturing specifications

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Supervises leads and hourly manufacturing in the shop

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Mechanically Inclined.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or related area preferred
  • 3+ years in steel framing, lath, and accessory environment
  • 1-2 years supervisory experience
  • The military equivalent will be recognized in lieu of education and/or experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Lifting- Up to 50 lbs.
  • Standing-8 or more hours per day
  • Walking- Off and on, 4-6 hours per day
  • Body Positions- Squatting, bending, flexing and extending both arms
  • Grasping- Both hands, up to 8 hours per day
  • Sitting- Occasionally
  • Pushing Effort-Occasionally
  • Pulling- Occasionally
  • Climbing (ladders/stairs)-Occasionally

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

  • Basic mathematical skills, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and converting fractions into decimals.
  • Ability to read a tape measure, micrometer, and caliper accurately.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Manufacturing facility - exposed to heat and cold
  • Personal Protective Equipment required at all times.
  • Noise controlled environment.
  • Activity level is high - continuous overhead crane and forklift movement
