About the Role

Description

 As an Assistant Nurse Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing internal nursing staff and PC’s Nationwide Nursing Network partners within their assigned region. This includes PC’s internal nursing staff visit and on call schedule(s), directing office workflow, ensuring nursing skills competencies, supervisory visits, orientation and evaluation of nursing staff and PC’s Nationwide Nursing Network care coordination. The Assistant Nurse acts as a role model and point person for nursing staff and serves as the PC designated Administrator for state home health licensure and is also accountable for maintaining on-going, frequent communication with the Regional Nurse Manager and Director of Nursing.

Requirements

 

  • BSN or higher degree preferred 
  • Completion of accredited registered nursing program required 
  • Active registered nursing license in state(s) of practice and additional states as required
    without restrictions 
  • Valid driver’s license and valid automobile insurance  
  • Minimum of 3 years hospital/clinic or homecare experience preferred 
  • Minimum 1 year supervisory or management experience preferred 
  • Demonstrated IV skills required 
  • Thorough knowledge of infusion therapies preferred 
  • Strong teaching skills with previous patient training experience preferred 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to read, write, and
    comprehend English required 
  • Demonstrated proficiency with infusion pumps and IV access devices preferred 
  • Accuracy in mathematical calculations required 
  • Demonstrated compliance with aseptic technique preferred 
  • Computer operation and documentation skills required 

Job Responsibilities, included but not limited to: 

  • Assures adequate and appropriate staffing, maintains nursing schedule 
  • PromptCare nursing staff development including orientation, in-service education and continuing education 
  • Performs supervisory visits with PC nursing staff 
  • Ensures appropriate nursing care is being provided to patients per PromptCare policy and physician orders 
  • Care coordination with other departments as appropriate to render patient services and resources 
  • Ensures nursing department compliance with PromptCare’s programs and policies, applicable laws, regulations and accreditation standards 
  • Planning, developing, implementing, administering and evaluating programs as assigned 
  • Performs infusion skill and competency assessments on PromptCare internal nursing department staff 
  • Keep infusion therapy program personnel up to date with state-of-the-art clinical information, practices, and equipment 
  • Ensures nursing department compliance with documentation requirements per company policies 
  • Perform clinical chart audits 
  • Assists with recruitment of new nursing team members as well as new nursing agency partners 
  • Ensures nursing department compliance to the QI program 
  • Assists in development and updating of nursing policies, procedures, and training manuals as assigned 
  • Conducts in-services and does clinical presentations as required 
  • Provides direct patient care as needed 
  • Participates in the Infusion Nurse on call rotation as needed 
  • Provides 24-hour direction for the nursing services and employees when functioning as the Administrator on call 
  • Participates in the sales, marketing and education programs as directed by the Regional Nurse Manager/ Director of Nursing

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen. Coordinate fine and gross motor movements and hand/eye movement. Manipulate small equipment and containers, such as syringes, vials, ampules, and medication packages, to administer medications. Negotiate level surfaces, ramps, and stairs. Function with both hands free for performing psychomotor tasks. Maneuver in small areas. The employee must frequently lift a minimum weight of 15 pounds or more, and be able to perform repetitive standing, sitting, stooping, walking, stretching, reaching, typing and use full range of body motions.
