Montgomery County Coalition for the Homeless (MCCH) provides solutions to end homelessness in Montgomery County. Our vision is to build a community where everyone has a safe, stable, and affordable place to call home. In support of our mission, MCCH operates ten distinct programs: three emergency programs which serve individuals currently experiencing homelessness, and eight permanent supportive housing (PSH) programs which serve individuals and families exiting homelessness. Our programs serve more than 1,600 men, women and children each year. Coalition Homes, Inc., an affiliate of MCCH, is a nonprofit housing development organization creating permanent housing for formerly homeless individuals and families. Coalition Homes currently owns and manages 140 units which provide permanent homes for formerly homeless individuals.
About the Role

Description

General Description: The Client Care Team Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily shift operations to ensure the effective delivery of services and that clients’ basic needs are consistently met. This position provides leadership and support to the Client Care Team during each shift. Full-time positions are available for 1st, 2nd and 3rd shifts Monday through Friday, and part-time positions are available for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts Saturday and Sunday.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct supervision to assigned Client Care Aides, including conducting individual and group supervisions, facilitating training, completing performance evaluations, and participating in hiring, and termination processes.
  • Oversee the efficient operations of the Main Control and the staff on the floor, including monitoring and approving timecards for Client Care Aides and facilitating team meetings.
  • Serve as an active member of the shelter’s leadership team, participating in regular meetings and maintaining consistent communication to ensure alignment and efficient operations.
  • Provide emergency intervention in response to crisis situations, utilizing approved skills.
  • Maintain detailed communication logs and incident documentation, ensuring all incident reports are accurate, promptly submitted to management and supported by security camera reviews when applicable.
  • Supervise and coordinate pack ups, supplies and inventory.
  • Supervise the timely processing of incoming mail.
  • Supervise the organization and regular disposal of client storage.
  • Submit maintenance requests and the weekly DFM.
  • Enter data into HMIS and Apricot 360 systems.
  • Arrange transportation for clients.
  • Responsible for accurate tracking of postage stamps, bus tokens and petty cash.
  • Responsible for issuing parking passes and submitting documentation for towing requests.
  • Schedule adequate staff to ensure coverage and monitor overtime.
  • Notify maintenance when equipment needs repair or when there are concerns in the facility.
  • Maintain a clean exterior of the donor area and ensure donors are greeted properly.
  • Assist with the coordination of overflow.
  • Perform inspections, safety checks, and ensure facility is clean and proper disinfectant procedures are being followed to reduce the spread of communicable diseases.
  • Schedule and facilitate interviews and train new Client Care Aides.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelors Degree preferred, High school graduate or GED required.
  • Minimum 2-years related experience supervising or leading direct care staff required.
  • Demonstrated experience in staff training, coaching, and team building to promote professional growth and a collaborative work environment.
  • Bilingual Preferred.
  • Ability to write clear and concise routine reports and documents.
  • Knowledge of best practices including Housing First Motivational Interviewing, Harm-Reduction, and Trauma Informed Care.
  • Knowledge and experience in administering CPR and minor first aid.
  • Demonstrated skills in crisis response and verbal deescalation.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
  • Advocate for homeless population.
  • Must be able to create an atmosphere at the shelter of Trauma Informed Care where everyone’s voice is heard, valued, and respected.

Shifts:

 

Part Time Saturday and Sunday 8 am – 4pm

Part Time Saturday and Sunday 4pm – 12 am

Part Time Saturday and Sunday 12am – 8am
