The Loan Operations Specialist will assist in all areas of Loan Operations, including but not limited to, loan booking, ensuring compliance, processing payoffs, resolving issues and servicing and maintaining loan account records.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Responsible for the booking of all OFB Loans, including commercial, consumer, residential, equipment finance, and government guaranteed products.
  • Quality review and management of original loan document tracking and archival.
  • Onboarding of all ticklers, including collateral, insurance, and post-closing.
  • Maintain existing loan files by processes daily loan maintenance including but not limited to corrections, modifications, rate changes, etc.
  • Quality review of booked loans and loan maintenance processed daily.
  • Maintenance of the Loan tickler system including hazard insurance, collateral perfection and document exceptions.
  • Daily loan general ledger entries and reconciliations.
  • Process and maintain Force Placed Insurance and Flood Insurance
  • Back up loan operations specialist with routine maintenance and servicing responsibilities.
  • Assist management with projects and duties as assigned. 

Requirements

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Process loan payments and work closely with the branches to process exceptions.

  • Add construction budget to necessary loans and process LIP advances.
  • Perform daily quality control review of original loan documents and booked/modified loans.
  • Quote payoffs and prepare needed documentation.
  • Complete paid off files, including releasing liens.
  • Assist with periodic mailing to borrowers regarding expired insurance according to procedures.
  • General office duties including filing, supplies, telephone answering, etc.
  • Assist with projects within the department as needed.
  • Comply with all regulations pertaining to BSA, USA PATRIOT ACT, AND OFAC requirements.
  • Complete annual BSA training.
  • Ensure management is informed of area activities and of any significant problems or concerns.
  • Contribute to the fulfillment of the Bank objectives and goals.
  • Ensure all confidential information in the work area is properly secured each day.
  • Maintain privacy of customer account information.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Education/Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 3-5 years related experience.

Language and Interpersonal Skills

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  • Effective interpersonal relationships with management and team members
  • A thorough understanding and application of all policies, procedures and regulations pertaining to the work of Loan Operations
  • Ability to effectively manage time as related to daily tasks
  • Ability to prioritize multiple demands in a high-pressure environment while maintaining professional demeanor
  • Ability to operate in a team environment to accomplish shared goals

Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to work with basic mathematic al concepts
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situation

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer and Office Equipment Skills

  • Spreadsheet software (Microsoft Excel)
  • Word processing software (Microsoft Word)
  • Other Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Teams, One Note, PowerPoint)
  • Copier/Scanner
