The Commercial Solution Area and Cloud and AI Platforms (CAIP) Solution Area is pivotal in driving innovation and delivering comprehensive solutions to our customers. Our mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more by providing cutting-edge cloud and AI technologies. The CAIP Go-to-Market (GTM) team connects product, field, and customer needs - building GTM plans, enabling field teams with programs, tools, and technical guidance, and partnering with engineering to refine products based on feedback.

The Azure Assessments Lead will own the end-to-end process of delivering cloud migration and modernization assessments that drive customer readiness and adoption of Microsoft technologies. This role combines program design, program management, and field enablement to ensure tools, processes, and vendor operations align with strategic goals. The successful candidate will manage program strategy and execution, roadmap planning, vendor relationships, and operational budgeting while enabling sellers and partners to leverage assessment tools effectively.

Responsibilities

Program Strategy

  • Define assessment portfolio inclusive of problem statement, scope, approach, and KPIs
  • Understand competitive positioning of offer and evolve strategy to deliver continued competitive differentiation 
  • Partner with engineering and product teams to validate feature gaps and enhancements.

Program & Vendor Management

  • Oversee vendor teams delivering assessments, ensuring SLA compliance and quality.
  • Manage operational budgets, forecast spend, and optimize resource allocation.
  • Drive continuous improvement through vendor feedback loops and performance metrics.

Readiness & Enablement

  • Develop and deliver enablement content for sellers and partners.
  • Conduct ad-hoc field calls and readiness sessions to ensure understanding of tools and processes.
  • Create talk tracks and guidance for pre-sales motions leveraging assessment outputs.

Assessment Execution & Adoption

  • Ensure usage of assessment tools through proactive engagement with account teams.
  • Monitor pipeline of assessment requests, prioritize based on strategic impact.
  • Track KPIs for assessment completion, turnaround time, and customer satisfaction.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Work closely with GTM, engineering, and partner teams to align assessment strategy with business objectives.
  • Represent the program in leadership reviews and provide insights on competitive positioning.

Qualifications

Required/minimum qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance, or related field AND 6+ years experience in program management, process management, or process improvement OR equivalent experience.
Additional or preferred qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance, or related field AND 8+ years experience in program management, process management, or process improvement OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Operations, Finance, or related field AND 12+ years experience in program management, process management, or process improvement OR equivalent experience.
  • Understanding of cloud migration, modernization scenarios, and assessment tooling.
  • Strong experience managing complex programs, budgets, and vendor operations.
  • Ability to create and deliver training content for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proficiency in interpreting assessment data and driving actionable insights.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
  • Preferred Certifications: PMP, Azure Fundamentals, or equivalent.
  • Extensive experience in program management or technical enablement roles.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure migration tools and competitive cloud assessments.
  • Proven track record of driving adoption and readiness in enterprise environments.


Business Program Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $116,900 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $148,400 - $222,600 per year.
