PacAero is primarily located in Wenatchee, WA with a remote manufacturing site, Bonded Metals, located in Sequim, WA. Working together, we employ proprietary technologies, best practices engineering, and specialized manufacturing techniques to produce hermetic connectors and electronic packaging that perform in the world’s most extreme environments. PacAero’s products are hard at work in medical components, such as cardiac-function devices, on key aerospace & defense programs, in space and deep below the earth's surface.
The Position:
Job Summary
Working under general supervision, the Plating Technician is responsible for electroplating components and assemblies for aerospace, defense, and medical applications. The role involves monitoring equipment processes, performing measurements and inspections to ensure product quality, and adhering to safety and production standards.
Schedule: This swing shift is Mon-Fri, 1:00pm to 9:30pm. The first couple months will be training on Day shift: 5am to 1:30pm. Once training is complete, and swing schedule is started, employee will be eligible for a $2/hr shift differential.
Primary Responsibilities
- Work cooperatively with all employees.
- Willingness to adapt work schedule to company needs.
- Consistently at work and on time.
- Following company handbook policy and companies cell phone policy.
- Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
- Observe safety regulations and follow protective equipment requirements. Report hazardous observations to your lead or supervisor.
- Must be able to retain information and show continued progression of growth towards Level II.
Plating Technician I Responsibilities
- The ability to effectively electroplate components to meet drawing and specification standards.
- Be able to use XRF to take thickness measurements of plated component.
- The knowledge of applicable military and government plating specifications.
- Must be able to rack components per instructions.
- Perform all tasks with rigid adherence to parts handling best practices.
- Must be able to demonstrate effective rinsing techniques, including using various hydro-washing methods and achieving water break free surfaces.
- Must be able to set correct amperage and voltage on rectifiers.
- Must be able to complete certification forms properly.
- The ability to complete tasks in a reasonably timely manner.
- The ability to detect equipment failure.
- Elevation to Plating Technician II will be at the discretion of Management.

Education/Previous Experience Requirements
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Previous experience preferred but not required.
Work Environment
- Noise: The Plating Lab can often be a loud environment with constant noise from equipment that may require mandatory hearing protection.
- Safety hazards: Can be exposed to inherent risks from both high and low temperature liquid and gas, flammable liquid and gas, and sharp tools. Safety protocols are critical to prevent injuries.
- Contaminants: The work involves exposure to chemicals and chemical fumes, necessitating adequate ventilation and protective measures to minimize health risks when in the Plating Lab.
- Protective gear: Personal protective equipment (PPE) is a requirement for safety. This includes safety glasses, protective gloves, lab coats/coveralls, close-toed footwear as specified.
Physical Requirements:
- Standing/Sitting: Long hours in a chair or on their feet.
- Manual dexterity: Fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination are necessary for manipulating tools and performing meticulous cleanings.
- Repetitive motion: Many tasks, such as hand cleaning, are repetitive and can potentially lead to musculoskeletal issues over time.
- Precision and vision: Must have excellent close-up vision, depth perception, and the ability to distinguish colors and textures to accurately read blueprints and inspect finished products
- Stamina: Physical stamina is required for the duration of a shift to perform all duties of the job.
