Job Description

Position Overview

We are hiring for the position of Site Engineer – Safety for an elevated metro project in Nagpur. The role involves ensuring the implementation of safety protocols and practices at the construction site, conducting safety audits, and ensuring compliance with safety standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering and hands-on experience in safety management for elevated metro projects. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and monitor safety protocols and procedures at the construction site.  
    Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.  
    Ensure the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) by all workers and staff on-site.
  • Ensure compliance with local and international safety regulations, including OSHA and IS codes.  
    Develop and enforce site-specific safety plans in coordination with project managers and contractors.  
    Maintain proper documentation of safety records, incident reports, and compliance checklists.
  • Conduct risk assessments and identify potential safety risks during construction activities.  
    Develop and implement mitigation strategies to minimize risks and ensure a safe working environment.  
    Investigate and report any accidents or incidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
  • Conduct safety training and awareness programs for on-site workers and staff.  
    Organize toolbox talks and safety drills to promote a culture of safety.  
    Ensure all workers are aware of emergency response procedures and evacuation plans.
  • Work closely with project managers, site engineers, and contractors to ensure safety measures are integrated into construction activities.  
    Prepare and submit regular safety reports to the project management team.  
    Act as the primary point of contact for all safety-related matters on-site.

Qualifications

  • Engineering Degree + Diploma or Specialization course in Industrial safety Management (mandatory). 
  • Minimum of 5.6 years of experience and 2-3 yrs in metro project in safety management for construction projects.

Preferred Attributes

  • Strong knowledge of safety standards and regulations applicable to metro construction projects.  
    Familiarity with safety management tools and techniques. Proficiency in preparing safety documentation and reports.
