About the Role

Description

NGSG has immediate openings for a Maintenance Technician. Trouble shoot and repair basic hand tools, power tools, fabrication equipment, and maintain fabrication facility needs. This person will facilitate inspections of shop equipment and safety audits. This position will require the ability to create/maintain a maintenance schedule and provide written reports to management. Required minimum of 5 years of experience providing maintenance in an industrial setting. Basic tools for the job are required.

Essential Job Functions

  • Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on hand tools, power tools, fabrication equipment, and facility systems.
  • Ensure all facility operations are safe and functional, including lighting, HVAC, paint booth, doors, electrical outlets, and plumbing.
  • Inspect and maintain fabrication equipment such as saws, grinders, and specialized shop tools to ensure proper operation and compliance with safety standards.
  • Conduct and document regular equipment inspections, maintenance activities, and safety audits.
  • Develop and maintain a preventive maintenance schedule and provide detailed written reports to management.
  • Maintain organization and inventory of the tool crib, shop supplies, and company assets.
  • Oversee basic vehicle maintenance and ensure compliance with inspection and tag requirements.
  • Operate company trucks and trailers (non-CDL) as needed to support shop and field operations.
  • Support a culture of safety through participation in inspections, hazard identification, and corrective actions.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience performing maintenance in an industrial or fabrication environment.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance schedules, equipment inspections, and safety audits.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on problem-solving skills.
  • Basic tools for the job are required; familiarity with welding and shop equipment is a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and equipment manuals.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and company assets.
  • Ability to operate non-CDL company vehicles and trailers as needed.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to provide reports and collaborate with management.
  • Safety-conscious mindset with the ability to identify hazards and follow safety procedures consistently.
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S.

Employment for this role is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check, drug and alcohol screening, and physical exam, in accordance with company policy and applicable laws.


Physical Demands


This position requires the ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and climbing for extended periods, up to 10 hours per shift. The role involves lifting and carrying materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds regularly, as well as performing tasks that require full-body movement, manual dexterity, and hand-eye coordination. Employees must have sufficient visual acuity to read blueprints, measure components, and inspect equipment and welds for quality and accuracy. The position also requires the ability to tolerate exposure to varying temperatures, noise, dust, and typical fabrication shop conditions, while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses, steel-toed boots, and welding hoods.
