The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily maintenance operations across the park facilities, rides/attractions, grounds, buildings, and utility systems. This role will supervise the maintenance team, schedule preventive work, respond to repair needs, coordinate with operations and safety teams, and ensure the park meets high standards of safety, reliability, accessibility, and appearance.
Requirements
KEY RESPONSIBILITES:
- Supervise and schedule the maintenance crew: assign work orders, coordinate shifts, monitor performance, coach/mentor staff.
- Develop and manage preventive maintenance programs for all park systems (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, rides/attractions, grounds, buildings).
- Oversee reactive maintenance: troubleshoot, diagnose problems, order parts, implement repairs, coordinate vendors/contractors as needed.
- Maintain accurate records: work orders, inspection logs, equipment history, inventory of parts/tools, maintenance reports.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols, training programs, and adhere to OSHA (or equivalent) standards and park safety culture.
- Participate in team meetings, coordinate with other departments, and assist in special projects (e.g., seasonal events, new attraction installations, expansions).
- Perform regular inspections of park facilities, ride structures (as appropriate), utility systems, buildings, and grounds to identify hazards, inefficiencies, or wear and tear.
- Collaborate with ride operations, grounds/landscape, park services, and guest services to schedule downtime, coordinate maintenance windows, and minimize guest impact.
- Support the park’s mission of inclusion and accessibility: ensure that maintenance supports accessible features, mobility devices, and guest-friendly infrastructure.
- Assist with budgeting and cost control: monitor maintenance budgets, track expenditures, propose cost-effective solutions or capital improvements.
MANDATORY AND DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS/TRAINING
Skills and Knowledge:
- Minimum of (5) years of hands-on maintenance experience (mechanical/electrical/plumbing/grounds) in a facility, attraction, or manufacturing environment; prior supervisory experience strongly preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of building and ride systems: HVAC, plumbing, electrical distribution, mechanical equipment, grounds maintenance, and general construction/repair preferred.
- Proficient in computer use: work order systems, spreadsheets, maintenance software, mobile devices.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities; able to work independently when required.
- Strong leadership and supervisory skills: ability to lead a team, delegate tasks, mentor staff, evaluate performance.
- Strong communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills, working effectively with multiple departments, vendors/contractors, and employees.
Requirements and Experience:
- High School diploma or GED required; Associate degree or technical training in facilities management, mechanical/electrical trades, or related field preferred.
- Experience with preventive maintenance systems, work order software, inventory control, and technical troubleshooting.
- Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and electrical schematics preferred.
- Valid driver’s license: ability to operate park vehicles or maintenance equipment as needed.
- Water quality testing and pool compliance; CPO/AFO certification preferred or certified within 90 days.
