POSITION SUMMARY
Our maintenance technician is responsible for maintaining the structural integrity of the building and addressing all company maintenance-related issues, ensuring that all repairs and services are completed promptly and per operating and safety standards. This role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining building systems, equipment, and appliances, as well as addressing any maintenance concerns promptly and efficiently.
Our maintenance tech will also have some Driver responsibilities. The candidate may be asked to safely transfer our residents to and from doctors' appointments from time to time. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and dedicated to delivering exceptional service.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform routine building maintenance as directed, completing tasks such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, floor care, pressure washing, basic plumbing skills, and appliance repairs.
- Ensure that all repairs and service orders are completed promptly, following operating and safety standards.
- Maintain scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on equipment.
- Repair vacated rooms promptly and prepare for a new resident's move-in.
- Ensure that the walls, floor coverings, doors, and woodwork in the community's common areas are well-maintained.
- Monitor and manage maintenance supplies and equipment inventory.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance work performed, including service logs, equipment maintenance, and inventory tracking.
- Maintain positive communication with the local fire marshal, building inspector, state elevator inspector, and any other jurisdictions governing the community.
- Work within the legal scope of local and state codes.
- Provide safe, reliable, courteous, and efficient transportation service for the residents to and from various human service locations, work sites, educational institutions, medical facilities, grocery stores, drug stores, and others.
- Assist residents in and out of the vehicle, utilizing the wheelchair lift/stairs as needed; open and close doors; and load/unload walkers and wheelchairs as needed.
- Ensure resident safety and satisfaction are priorities, and account for the presence of all residents when leaving or returning to the community.
Requirements
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS
Education and certificates:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Professional maintenance-related certifications are a plus, but not required.
- Valid Driver's licsence
- Three years of driving record and a clean driving history
Experience, Competencies, and Skills:
- At least two (2) years of prior maintenance or handyman experience in a senior living, multi-apartment, or hotel setting is required.
- A well-rounded general maintenance skillset, including experience with HVAC, drywall repair and texturing, carpentry, minor electrical, plumbing, basic repairs, painting, floor care, and landscaping.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks efficiently, with good time management and organizational skills.
- Friendly and professional demeanor with a customer service mindset.
- Comfortable working with cleaning chemicals, tools, and machinery.
- One year of experience driving a passenger vehicle
