About the Role

Description

Northwest Eye Surgeons is a progressive ophthalmic medical and surgical practice, and we are searching for a part-time Surgical Technologist for our Mount Vernon ASC location. Responsibilities:

  • Process and sterilize instruments to the highest standards.
  • Assist and handle the instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure.
  • Gain an understanding of the procedures being performed and anticipate the needs of the surgeon.
  • Ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and function cooperatively with physicians and staff exhibiting teamwork characteristics.
  • Maintain the highest standard of sterile technique and vigilance of the sterile field during the surgical procedure.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Windows or G-Suite
  • Effectively work in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated multitasking
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology
  • Knowledge of sterile technique as it is applied to the operating room
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate excellence in communication skills and ability to convey ideas and information, verbally and in writing
  • Strong organization and attention to detail

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • One (1) year of experience as an ophthalmic assistant preferred
  • Current CPR/AED is mandatory (ACLS is preferred). A certification course will be provided during orientation.
