Description
As our Parts Delivery Driver, you’ll operate a box truck to transport parts to and from specified destinations across our Northern California territory. Preparing, loading, securing, verifying, delivering, and unloading cargo is a critical and daily function. You’ll also be responsible for maintaining driver logs and conforming with all DOT, OSHA, and other safety requirements to ensure a 100% safety record. In addition, you’ll be responsible for the ongoing vehicle inspection, maintenance, and repairs associated with your assigned vehicle.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Preparation and Planning
· Prepare, load, and secure cargo for deliveries daily.
· Work with Parts team to set the most efficient schedule and route each day/week.
· Ensure each route is approached with efficiency as the leading influence on directions/GPS planning.
· Inspect, protect, and maintain company assets, merchandise, and vehicles.
Driving
· Drive delivery vehicles safely and courteously to transport components to a designated location(s), including the safe loading, and unloading of all items.
· Complete vehicle safety checks per Company policy and constantly operate the vehicle within safety guidelines.
· Immediately report any safety concerns or Company Policy violations to company management.
· Maintain a safe driving and working environment, including use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
· Properly maintain the vehicle(s) used for deliveries and take the necessary steps to report vehicle maintenance issues.
· Ensure the assigned company vehicle is kept clean, presentable and in safe condition.
Delivery
· Ensure parts are delivered on time and in excellent condition.
· Communicate clearly and professionally to build long-term professional relationships with the technicians and customers.
· Ensure appropriate delivery documentation is generated and issued for each delivery, then appropriately filed, or electronically scanned at the office.
· Pick up materials from nearby suppliers, technicians, or outside vendors as needed.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
Required
· High School Diploma.
· Ability to speak, read and write English fluently.
· Ability to shift priorities in a changing environment.
· Ability to work early AM hours to assist with traffic patterns and overtime when needed.
· Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, parts catalogs, and procedure manuals written in English.
· Ability to use basic math accurately: add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
· Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
· Demonstrated ability to use maps to create efficient driving routes.
· Qualified DMV record, background check, and drug screen.
Desired
· Forklift Certified.
· 3+ years of experience driving and delivering equipment or comparable cargo.
· 2+ years in a customer service position.
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:?
· Approximately 80% is spent driving.
· Approximately 20% is spent standing, squatting, kneeling. or moving about the work areas to load, unload, prep, and stock inventory.
· Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.
· Operation of foot controls or repetitive foot movement required for driving equipment including forklift and motor vehicles.
· Required to drive vehicles to customer and branch locations across Northern California.
· Will use the tablet as a telephone, messenger, and work tool, so expect to wear a Bluetooth and type into the tablet regularly.
· Hear with or without correction to be able to interpret and receive information and directions.
· Communicate, verbally and in written form, regularly to describe and explain detailed, important, and accurate instructions internally and directly with customers.
· Occasionally stoop, kneel, or crouch.
· Noise level fluctuates based on the worksite.
