Location: Greater Chattanooga area

Hours: Part-Time 20-30 hours/wk

Rate: $28/hr

This position is responsible for the development and implementation of a comprehensive community outreach program.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements a comprehensive community education program. 
  • Coordinates the referral development process. 
  • Educates unit staff on community education efforts. 
  • Educates unit staff on referral process techniques that will enhance the utilization of services being offered. 
  • Develops and maintains relationships with referral sources by making consistent and regular contact. 
  • Plans and drives a daily schedule for community outreach. 
  • Assists the unit with creation of critical census plans. 
  • Facilitates daily critical census calls with program staff as necessary. 
  • Maintains current and accurate referral information and competitor information. 
  • Maintains an effective account management system. 
  • Regularly review referral trends and other relevant data. 
  • Assists with development of annual and quarterly business plans. 
  • Makes presentations in the community supporting the program. 
  • Assists with collateral development. 
  • Coordinates and assists with special events. 
  • Fills in for program staff as necessary. 
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties detailed above. 
  • This position may require working outside of normal working hours in order to attend conferences or after-hours events. 
  • Seeks out networking opportunities within the communities’ services are provided. 
  • Seeks to establish partnerships with local providers, practices, hospitals, and community mental health agencies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in mental health related field and/or marketing, strongly preferred. 
  • Three years of experience in a similar position/setting. 
  • Business development/census growth, strongly desired. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Effective presentation skills. 
  • Proficient in software applications. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills. 
  • Self-directed
  • Handle with Care (will be provided if not current)
  • Working conditions 

Employee may work occasionally in high stress direct patient care areas. Stress levels may be high due to frequent dealings with life and death situations, physicians, families and other healthcare providers. Employee will be out in the community and working around referral sources. 


Physical requirements 

Ability to handle light to moderate materials. Physical demands greater than moderate may require knowledge of use of appropriate equipment. Frequent bending, lifting and pulling require proper use of good body mechanics. This job includes close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Also, the ability to communicate by phone is important.
