About the Role

Brought to you by Hi Noon Hospitality—the team behind Buck & Rider and Ingo’s Tasty Food—Pinyon is a Mediterranean-inspired restaurant opening in Old Town Scottsdale. Inspired by journeys across Turkey, Italy, France, Malta, Greece, Spain, and Morocco, the name reflects a deep connection to the region’s vibrant food culture and heritage. Set along the park with a welcoming patio for alfresco dining, Pinyon invites guests to linger over a cocktail or a lively spritz while enjoying house-made pita, crudos, pasta, seasonal salads, and an ever-changing array of spreads and dips alongside dishes cooked over open flame—celebrating flavors from Barcelona to Malta while uniting the best global ingredients and time-honored techniques to bring a fresh, sophisticated dining experience to the community.  


Position Overview:

The Lead  Maitre’d sets the tone for the entire guest experience. As the first and last point of contact, you will lead the front desk with poise, warmth, and precision. Beyond greeting and seating, you will orchestrate the flow of the dining room, manage reservations (SevenRooms), and collaborate with the service team to ensure that every guest enjoys a seamless, memorable visit. This is not simply a host role, it is a leadership position that requires a confident presence, hospitality finesse, and the ability to thrive in a high-volume, elevated environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome every guest with grace and professionalism, setting the stage for an exceptional      dining experience.
  • Oversee reservations and guest flow, ensuring efficient and balanced seating for      optimal service.
  • Anticipate guest needs and manage VIP experiences with discretion and care.
  • Serve as a communication hub between front-of-house and back-of-house to maintain      smooth operations.
  • Support the other hosts, modeling elevated service standards at all times.
  • Handle guest concerns with empathy, professionalism, and swift resolution.
  • Uphold an atmosphere of warmth and hospitality consistent with Pinyon’s coastal      Mediterranean spirit.

Qualifications

· Lead Host/maitre’d experience at a high-volume, upscale restaurant preferred-but we’re willing to train the right person!

· Strong knowledge of reservation and guest management systems (experience with Sevenrooms a plus).

· Polished communication skills with the ability to connect with diverse guests.

· Calm and professional demeanor under pressure; strong problem-solving skills.

· Passion for hospitality and a natural ability to anticipate guest needs.

· Flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Day in the life: 

  • Greet guests with warmth, professionalism, and polish 
  • Manage ‘priority seating’ and the flow of service for a busy dining room and happy hour 
  • Cultivate a welcoming, personalized experience for every guest 
  • Coordinate closely with management, servers, and the kitchen to ensure peak performance
  • Use of iPad technology through Sevenrooms reservation platform 
  • Utilize a calm, composed demeanor with the ability to multitask under pressure 
  • Maintain an atmosphere of calm and luxury, even during high-volume service

Requirements: 

  • Poised, polished and impeccable presented 
  • Excellent customer service 
  • A natural connector with strong emotional intelligence and presence
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with both co-workers and guests 
  • Ability to multi-task in fast-paced, team environment  
  • Have a current AZ Food Handler's/Servesafe card or ability to obtain
