Description
Specialty Metals Corp is looking for an experienced Accounting & HR Manager to join our team! The position will be responsible for all accounting and human resource functions and managing the accounting staff.
The professional who fills this position will be a crucial part of the management team and will provide daily financial and HR leadership. This hands-on role ensures accurate financial reporting, compliance with all employment laws/regulations and effective payroll processing. The Accounting & HR Manager will report directly to the VP.
Salary range: $100,000 - $125,000

Requirements
Key functions and responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Monthly/quarterly/annual financial reporting and closing including financial statements and budgeting
- Preparation of various tax filings and reports for local, state, and federal government
- Oversee day-to-day financial accounting operations
- Manage the accounting staff including the A/P & A/R Clerk
- Responsible for daily treasury and banking functions
- Negotiate and maintain company insurance policies
- Responsible for all HR functions including onboarding new hires, terminations, biweekly and bonus payrolls, HR-related compliance and investigations, filing necessary claims and maintaining accurate and up to date confidential personnel files
- Manage employee benefits including insurance and 401(k)
- Other operational duties as necessary
Qualifications and Skills
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, HR practices and labor laws
- 5+ years’ Accounting experience preferred
- 3+ years Human Resources experience preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality; highly ethical and dependable
- High level of proficiency in excel
