About the Role

Description

We are hiring a Senior Mortgage Loan Processor (Senior Real Estate Loan Processor) who will work in the Real Estate department managing applications from Members for mortgage and equity loans and prepares/processes a variety of documentation for completeness.  


Business Hours: Monday – Friday: 8:30AM to 5:30PM

*Based upon business needs, our positions may require working flexible hours, including weekends.


This position is based in Anaheim Hills, CA with the opportunity to work on a hybrid-remote schedule which consists of 2 days in-office and 3 days working remote from home.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of real estate lending experience including working processing real estate loan files, and collaborating with underwriting.
  • Working knowledge of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac guidelines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. 
  • 4+ years prior credit union experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proficient in all applicable MS Office programs (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.).
  • Excellent oral and written communication, human relations and negotiating skill.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of policies and procedures necessary to effectively perform job duties.
  • Excellent Customer Service skills.
  • Ability to lead or direct processors with less experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of Encompass and Symitar systems.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • The Real Estate Loan Processor performs a variety of duties within established department policies, guidelines and procedures, under the direction of the Real Estate Manager. 
  • Responsible for the accurate of timely processing loan applications 1st mortgage loans (Purchase and refinance transactions) and Home Equity products.
  • Maintains thorough knowledge of all mortgage and equity loan products and guidelines. 
  • Ensure Real Estate requests - satisfy guidelines set by CU SoCal, it’s investors (i.e. Fannie Mae - Freddie Mac and HUD) and its business partners (i.e. Mortgage Insurance Providers, Escrow, Title, Appraisal).
  • Verifies and/or validates application information and exhibits to determine Member’s qualification for loan.
  • Discusses and communicates the status of the application, loan conditions and closing requirements with Members and other interested parties.
  • Prepares loan exhibits, orders appraisals, calculates income, and prepares initial disclosures.
  • Communicate decisions to internal team and Members as needed; work closely with the loan team to determine appropriate counteroffers to Members and clear any pending conditions. 
  • Meet all department goals and deadlines for productivity, quality, and KPI’s. 
  • Complete understanding and active application the C.A.R.E. 4 Guide expectations and the Brand Communications Standards Accountability Philosophy. 
  • Complete understanding and active application of the Exceptional Experience Guide expectations. 
  • Must be able and available to work a “hybrid” schedule, per business operations requirement, as needed.
  • Additional duties and responsibilities, as assigned.

Pay Scale: Min $26.20 / Mid $33.15 / Max $39.00* an hour

*Actual compensation will be based on geographical location, work experience, education and/or skill level.
