Concrete Paving Laborer - Traveling

Description

At Hi-Way Paving, we are general contractors in the construction field that specialize in significant amounts of concrete paving, storm drainage, and excavation on highways and airfields.

Our laborers are the backbone of our job-site operations. Our crews work together to prep sites, support grading operations, and assist with concrete paving to bring each project to life.

We’re looking for hardworking, reliable laborers to join our team. This role is for road warriors who are ready to travel regularly to our projects in Nashville, TN; Charlotte, NC; and future locations as needed.

What You'll Do:

• Clean and prepare construction and paving areas.
• Pour and assist with concrete finishing.
• Shovel and rake dirt, gravel, and concrete.
• Read and follow plans, instructions, and project specifications.
• Load, unload, and distribute materials, machinery, and tools.
• Use hand and power tools as needed.
• Assist in directing vehicle traffic and signaling equipment operators.
• Operate equipment such as backhoes, skid steer loaders, and other machinery as trained.
• Communicate effectively with team members and site management.
• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

 What We Look For:

• Construction-site labor experience preferred.
• Heavy or highway construction experience preferred.
• Additional Requirements:
  • Ability to gain clearance for restricted/high-security zones (e.g., airport AOA, military bases).
  • Willingness to travel 100% of the time.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Physical ability to lift 50lbs, climb, walk, kneel, squat, push, pull, and enter confined spaces.
  • If applicable, indicate union affiliation on your application.
  • Must be at least 18 years old to meet job-site safety and labor requirements.

We operate in several southeastern and midwestern states with current job sites in Tennessee and North Carolina, as well as corporate/back-office operations in Ohio (our headquarters) and remote locations.
