Position Overview:

The Senior Project Manager, Construction is a key leader on Powder’s Development & Construction team, responsible for overseeing complex construction projects from inception through completion. This role ensures that all residential, commercial, and resort-building projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. Serving as the central liaison between design teams, construction management, contractors, and on-site trades, the Senior Project Manager drives seamless coordination across all phases of development. They oversee project planning, budget control, scheduling, and performance, while proactively identifying risks and implementing the appropriate controls to maintain scope, cost, and schedule integrity.


The Senior Project Manager manages project permitting, prepares detailed status reports for leadership, and ensures timely procurement of materials and services. This role negotiates with vendors and suppliers to secure optimal pricing and delivery schedules, selects and manages subcontractors, and ensures all work aligns with Powder’s design intent, construction standards, and operational goals. Through strong communication and technical expertise, the Senior Project Manager plays a critical role in delivering high-quality built environments that support Powder’s long-term vision and guest experience.

Requirements

Key Competencies:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of construction workflow, processes, and practices
  • Proven track record in the timely delivery of construction projects within budget
  • Manage multiple priorities simultaneously without losing sight of project goals
  • Strategic, creative thinker, using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems
  • Excellent and effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to infuse the internal management process with new ideas as well as to support external marketing efforts.
  • Strong, effective interpersonal and analytical skills
  • Work independently, present recommendations and interact with the Senior Management in the decision-making process
  • Resourcefulness and effective critical thinking, judgement, problem-solving, and decision-making skills within a fast-paced environment
  • Effective communication, negotiation, mediation, organizational, and time management skills are a must
  • Ability to work in entrepreneurial environment
  • Ability to respond rapidly to changes in the market
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, independent work ethic, and administrative skills

Requirements and/or Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction/project management, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or other related field from an accredited college or university
  • a minimum of ten (10) to fifteen (15) years of experience in a direct project manager of installation position
  • Experience with delivering hospitality projects and working in high alpine environments is a plus. 
  • Google Workspace experience is required.  
  • Working knowledge of Procore is beneficial.
  • 5 days per week onsite
