The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced HR Manager to support Thomas Ranch Development and Loraloma Club in Spicewood, TX. You will be responsible for managing all human resources functions at the site by providing hands-on, day-to-day support to employees and leaders, managing onsite HR operations, employee relations, labor law compliance, recruitment, safety, and workforce development.
You will serve as the champion of a positive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace culture, ensuring policies are applied consistently and guiding managers in developing their teams. You will be the primary HR resource for a diverse workforce, partnering with corporate HR for guidance and alignment, driving recruitment, retention, and engagement initiatives, and ensuring all team members feel valued, supported, and empowered to succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
HR Operations & Employee Relations
- Provide hands-on HR support to employees and leaders for day-to-day HR needs.
- Manage employee relations, performance management, investigations, corrective actions, and conflict resolution.
- Guide managers in developing their teams, improving performance, and resolving workplace issues.
- Serve as a bilingual (English/Spanish) resource for employees.
Policy, Compliance & HR Programs
- Develop and implement site-specific HR policies as needed, aligned with corporate standards.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Maintain HR reporting, metrics, and documentation for audits and corporate review.
- Serve as the primary HR contact for benefits administration, including new hire and open enrollment.
Recruitment & Workforce Planning
- Partner with site leadership on workforce planning, staffing strategies, succession planning, and labor cost management.
- Lead full-cycle recruitment for site-specific roles.
- Lead onboarding, orientation, and training programs that support hospitality service standards and enhance the guest experience.
- Support employee development and career growth opportunities.
Culture & Employee Engagement
- Serve as the champion of a positive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace culture.
- Build and maintain strong engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and retention efforts.
- Coach managers to foster high-performing, inclusive teams that support employee satisfaction and engagement.
Safety & Risk Management
- Oversee site safety programs, including injury reporting, workers’ compensation, incident investigation, and prevention initiatives.
- Ensure safety program, training, and communications are accessible and understandable for all employees.
- Coordinate safety training and ensure compliance with OSHA and company standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR or SPHR preferred.
- 9+ years of progressive HR experience with at least 3 years in an HR Manager or HR Business Partner role.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) required.
- Prior HR experience within the hospitality, resort, hotel, restaurant, or high-volume service industry strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and safety regulations.
- Experience using HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication, coaching, and leadership presence.
- Ability to manage high-volume HR operations and multiple priorities across departments.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive matters appropriately and maintain high level of confidentiality.
The HR Manager works onsite at our Thomas Ranch Development five days per week in Spicewood, TX with travel between the golf course, development office, and other site locations as needed.
