Job Description
Reporting to the Director of Engineering, our Assistant Chief Engineer leads our hotel Maintenance team (Duty Technicians, Electricians, Painters, Handy Persons) in maintaining our buildings, plant, equipment, fixtures and fittings across our Hotel Precinct at Sydney Olympic Park.
You will lead a dedicated team of technicians who perform a range of activities such as basic carpentry, plumbing, painting and general repairs. Duties can include;
- Manage preventative and reactive maintenance
- Motivate, train and develop your team of engineering professionals
- Liaise with the leadership team to support them with maintaining the hotel assets
- Ensure the safe, efficient and compliant operation of our hotels
- Tackle the occasional after-hours maintenance emergency
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience supervising/managing a maintenance function within a large hotel or similar
- Strong knowledge and understanding EPA, PPE standards and WHS rules and regulations
- Be confident in emergency procedures and testing of fire alarms
- Ability to perform physical task such as lifting, carrying, kneeling, pushing, pulling, ascending or descending ladders and stairs.
- Flexibility to work weekends, public holidays and event days
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of team members
- Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative in a dynamic environment
- Have full working rights in Australia
