Job Title: Authorization Specialist


Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Authorization Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the authorization process for medical services, ensuring compliance with regulations, and facilitating communication between healthcare providers and insurance companies. This role is crucial in ensuring that patients receive timely and appropriate care.


Key Responsibilities:

- Review and process authorization requests for medical services and procedures.

- Communicate with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients to gather necessary information.

- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and policies regarding authorizations.

- Maintain accurate records of authorization requests and outcomes in the system.

- Follow up on pending authorizations and resolve any issues that may arise.

- Provide support and guidance to healthcare providers regarding authorization requirements.

- Stay updated on changes in insurance policies and regulations affecting authorizations.



Requirements

Skills and Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in healthcare administration or a related field is a plus.

- Previous experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in authorization or billing, is preferred.

- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes is an advantage.
