About the Role

Description

The Accounting Clerk I is responsible for the daily payment of vendor bills, receiving of vendor credits, and statement reconciliations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Liaise with returns department to ensure credits for defective products are complete and timely
  2. Monitor pending inventory, sponsorship pledges, and inventory discrepancies to ensure product and credit memos are received in a timely fashion
  3. Reconcile accounts receivable and work with customers to collect payments within terms
  4. Match credit card purchases to statement and record in Quickbooks
  5. Collect and verify amounts reported on bi-weekly expense reports
  6. Upload supplier invoices to backend for daily receiving demands
  7. Stamp and file completed invoices
  8. Complete chargeback paperwork
  9. Report work-related injuries to Controller within 24 hours of event
  10. Report any concerns or discrepancies to CFO or Controller
  11. Communicate ideas for better organization, better work-flow, and suggestions
  12. Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Skills and Education/Experience:

  1. High School Diploma or Equivalent; Associates or progression in accounting studies preferred
  2. 1-3 Years of experience in Accounts Payable or General Accounting
  3. Attention to details
  4. Able to self direct and prioritize
  5. Professional oral and written communication skills
  6. Math skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  7. Computer literate (knowledge and experience of Excel, Quickbooks, Word, E-mail, Internet) with the ability to learn new software applications
  8. 8. Language skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations, to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Reasoning skills: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
