Description

The following is a job advertisement for Powder Coating Systems. Please read the entire job description prior to applying. The position in this advertisement is a Skilled Position with certain requirements. Powder Coating Systems, located in Tacoma, is looking for an experienced Powder Coater for our Day Shift. This shift runs Monday through Friday from 5AM to 1:30PM. It is a full-time position. Starting pay for this position is $22-25 per hour. 


Applicants who apply for this position will be able to show 3-5 years experience as a coater for a powder coating operation on their resume. Coaters are expected to: 

-Determine color for the job and find it. 

-Weigh out their powder before and after the job and record it. 

-Inspect racks that have been prepped by the floor team and give constructive feedback to fix them for coating. 

-Use our machines to coat parts on the racks to the proper coverage. 

-Move the racks into the ovens for melt/cure. 

-Assist the floor in prepping racks when slow. 

This job will require you to wear a dust mask and PPE at a minimum. It can be physical and sometimes will require dexterity to avoid touching parts that were already coated. The best coaters will not only be efficient at coating, but will be able to prevent some of the common problems while doing so.

Requirements

Because of the needs of this position, the following are mandatory requirements: 

-3-5 years active coating experience. (References will be checked after the initial interview.)

-Current and legal driver's license. (Requirement to drive our forklifts)

-Proper documentation to prove identity and the right to work in the United States to satisfy the I-9. (Due to Federal Law, we are not allowed to accept copies for this.)

-Reliable transportation to commute to Tacoma on a daily basis. (This does not include Pierce Transit since the buses do not run that early in the morning.) 

-The ability to repetitively lift 50 pounds. (Most powder boxes average 50 pounds each.) 

-The ability to read and communicate in English.  


The following are not required, but helpful: 

-Mechanical aptitude. 

-Experience using a tablet to record information. 

-Forklift experience. 

-Experience operating a walkie-rider/Moto-jack.
