Description
The Maintenance Worker reforms a wide variety of routine-to-skilled general preventive maintenance duties in the repair, maintenance, and modification of buildings, equipment, and facilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Performs routine maintenance and repairs on the facility and equipment, including plumbing, electrical, mechanical, etc.
2. Maintains and repairs sump and ejector pumps. Uses power rod equipment to clear clogged lines of debris. Repairs and installs plumbing fixtures such as sinks, faucets and toilets. Cut, thread, and/or solder pipe.
3. Conducts troubleshooting of minor electrical problems such as blown fuses and short circuits. Troubleshoots and replaces switches and ballasts and other electrical components. Reads and interprets minor electrical schematics.
4. Maintains and repairs all mechanical equipment such as pumps, motors, air compressors, kitchen equipment, and grounds equipment.
5. Maintains and repairs patient related equipment including beds, carts, wheelchairs, sphygmomanometers, etc.
6. Repairs and installs various equipment, cabinetry, shelving and door hardware.
7. Responds to work order/service requests by determining probable cause of problem and initiates corrective measures as appropriate.
8. Performs a wide variety of scheduled preventive maintenance duties and inspections and maintains routine records. Repairs, or replaces parts, and tests for proper operation. Reports more serious problems to Group Leader.
9. Conducts interactions with patients/visitors in a manner that conveys a positive customer service experience.

Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent from an accredited program required
- 1-3 years of experience in hospital maintenance required
- 3+ years of experience preferred
- Training and coordination sufficient to handle various tools and equipment
- Ability to speak and write English to the extent necessary for safe and efficient performance of the job
