The Role
The Occupational Therapist (OT) will work in conjunction with our ABA Clinical Team to deliver occupational therapy to our clients. This role requires a deep understanding of occupational therapy principles and a collaborative approach to working with clients and their families. The consultant will assess clients, develop tailored therapy plans, and collaborate with the ABA Clinical Team in integrating OT strategies into their treatment sessions.
Essential Work Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments for clients undergoing ABA treatment.
- Develop individualized OT treatment plans that align with the goals of the ABA programs.
- Collaborate with ABA Clinical Team to integrate OT techniques and approaches into the clients' overall treatment.
- Provide training and guidance to ABA therapists and other staff on the use of OT strategies in their work.
- Consult with clients' families to ensure continuity and consistency in therapy approaches at home.
- Monitor and document clients' progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss client progress and adjust treatment strategies.
Education, Experience and Skills
- Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist in Rhode Island
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in occupational therapy, with a focus on pediatric, autism diagnosis, or developmental disabilities preferred.
- Familiarity with Applied Behavior Analysis and its principles is desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing needs and schedules.
Requirements
Ability to successfully perform the essential function of this job with reasonable accommodations considered. Ability to deal with a wide range of individual and programmatic issues. Frequent sitting, standing and walking. Must be able to lift 30 pounds. Must have valid driver’s license, safe driving record, automobile insurance and own vehicle to be used as directed and when needed for transport. Must obtain or possess CPR certification.
