About The Company
Established in 1954, UVA Community Credit Union is one of Central Virginia’s largest locally-owned financial institutions with over 76,000 members. We are a not-for-profit financial institution. We're not driven to turn a profit at the expense of those who use our services. We don't have stockholders. We don’t issue stock or pay dividends to outside stockholders. Instead, earnings are returned to our members in the form of lower loan rates, higher dividends on deposits and lower fees. Our sole mission is to help improve the financial well-being of our members. We exist to educate, encourage and empower. It’s the credit union difference of people helping people. So when our members join UVA Community Credit Union, they want to be part of something special – a community of people who believe that a financial institution should serve their interests and one that works to strengthen the community in which they live. We work very hard to live up to these ideals, and our efforts have not gone unnoticed. We are proud to have been voted the BEST Financial Institution in Central Virginia every year since 2007, as determined by the annual Daily Progress Reader’s Choice poll.
