Class A CDL Delivery Driver

For over 50 years, we have proudly served residential customers as well as contractors and municipalities across a variety of industries. 

Position Overview:

Our Warehouse Department is seeking to hire a Class A CDL Delivery Driver with 1-3 years of experience to join our Rochester branch.

Responsibilities:

• Adhere to all D.O.T rules and regulations.
• Hands-on loading and unloading of product that is received into individual daily routes and secure loads.
• Move skids using a manual pallet jack and other material handling equipment. 
• Complete and maintain paperwork from the day’s work including vendor pick-ups, inter-branch transfers and truck logs. 
• Provide information to Dispatcher throughout the day, such as delivery times, road delays, vehicle issues, etc. 
• Ensure truck cab and bed are emptied and cleared daily at the end of every shift. 
• Prepare and schedule maintenance on vehicles to determine needed repairs or inspections. 
• Assist with delivery and unload/reload inter-company transfers between Rochester and other Upstate VP Supply branches. 
• Deliver customer product via truck mounted forklift when necessary. 
• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. 

Requirements

Qualifications:

• 1-3 years of experience driving tractor trailers or semi-trucks. Must have CDL, Class A and clean driving record. 
• Experience driving 53’ trailers and have ability to connect/disconnect tractor. 
• Territorial knowledge of Monroe County and surrounding areas. 
• Ability to climb on and off the back of a truck, using side steps. 
• Must be able to undergo a motor vehicle and drug screening check. 
• Must have reliable daily transportation to branch location.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

• This job requires flexibility in hours from 6 AM until daily deliveries are complete. This position requires the ability to sit for long periods of time as well as the ability to lift 50-75 pounds.
