Job Description
Position Summary
The Laundry Attendant sorts, washes, and presses soiled and cleaned hotel linens and presses guest clothing items. This position reports to the Director of Housekeeping.

Essential Job Functions/Key Job Responsibilities
• Sorts linens from both Rooms and Food and Beverage
• Responsible for weighing and bundling linens
• Responsible for drying terry items
• Hand press guest laundry including all types of clothing items; shirts, dresses, pants
• Ironing for Rooms and Food & Beverage
• Wash and dry uniforms, linens and more as designated
• Issue uniforms as needed
• Handle all equipment, supplies and chemicals according to procedures
• Responsible for keeping laundry area neat and clean
• Make Manager aware of guests’ comments and complaints
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education & Experience Requirements
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• 1 year related experience required
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
• Familiar with hotel fire and safety procedures
• Basic knowledge of laundry
• Time management skills
• Ability to comply with all policies and procedures for the Laundry Department
• Ability to assist in emergency and security procedures as directed by management
• Ability to assist other departments as business volumes and staff levels demand
• Ability to maintain a positive, professional, team-player attitude
• Ability to communicate and follow oral or written directions in English
Additional Information
Work Environment & Physical Demands
• Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, stand or be on your feet, kneel and bend for extended periods of time
• Regularly work in adverse conditions and required to use protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials as well as an office environment and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces
• Must be able to frequently lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance (weight limits can vary according to position, but no more than 50)
