Position Overview:
The Individual Giving and Stewardship Specialist plays a key role in expanding and sustaining the Boys & Girls Clubs of San Leandro’s individual donor base by implementing effective giving strategies, strengthening donor relationships, and ensuring exceptional donor stewardship. This role directly supports BGCSL’s growth by managing donor data, recognition, communications, and giving programs that increase donor retention, engagement, and overall fundraising impact. By driving consistent, meaningful donor experiences, this position directly contributes to BGCSL’s ability to provide high-quality programs and life-changing opportunities for youth.

Essential Functions:
- Work with Director of Development to implement strategies to secure financial support from individual donors
- Actively engage and cultivate relationships with individual donors
- Work closely with the Development team to integrate individual giving strategies into the overall fundraising plan
- Implement and follow Donor Stewardship Plan including effective donor recognition and appreciation strategies
- Collaborate with Director of Marketing and Communications on quarterly fundraising appeals
- Manage the Development Department CRM including recording all incoming donations, sponsorships and grants
- Plan and manage Annual Club Champions Celebration- BGCSL’s donor and volunteer appreciation event

Qualifications & Experience:
Required:
3-5 years full time fundraising experience for similar size non-profit, excellent interpersonal communication skills, strong written communication skills, experience managing CRM database(s)
Preferred: BA/BS Degree in any related field.
Work Environment:
This position will work primarily in a standard office environment at the Boys & Girls Club of San Leandro. This role may occasionally require flexibility to accommodate organizational events or deadlines. Key aspects of the work environment include:
- Frequently required to sit.
- Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity.
- Continually required to talk or hear.
- Rarely exposure to outside weather conditions (visiting a site)
- While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
- The employee must occasionally lift and /or move more than 20 pounds.
