This includes the oversight and management of both unionized and non-unionized employees who will directly report to them.</p><p>The BaSE Supervisor also manages construction projects, ensures adherence to UPS building standards, and provides technical and regulatory expertise across multiple domains.</p><p></p><p><b>Job Type: </b>Full time, Permanent</p><p><b>Work Location: </b>1221 32E Avenue, Lachine, Quebec</p><p><b>Workdays:</b> Monday to Friday</p><p><b>Shift Hours: </b>1:00 PM to 9:00 PM (approximate – can vary)</p><p></p><p><b>Key Responsibilities:</b></p><p></p><p><b>Facility Maintenance & Compliance:</b></p><ul><li>Oversee maintenance, housekeeping, and labor compliance for automated package-sorting facility in Lachine, Qc as well as some smaller satellite facilities in Quebec and the Maritime provinces</li><li>Conduct audits, facilitate Corrective Action Plans (CAPs), and deliver employee training on compliance requirements</li><li>Ensure regularly scheduled maintenance is completed timely and effectively, and all deficiencies are corrected</li><li>Oversee invoicing and manage costs for planned and emergency maintenance</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Environmental & Safety Compliance:</b></p><ul><li>Monitor district-level environmental and safety compliance for automated package-sorting facility in Lachine, Qc as well as some smaller satellite facilities in Quebec and the Maritime provinces</li><li>Review facility regulations, perform audits, and analyze trends to address compliance issues</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Conveyor Reliability:</b></p><ul><li>Manage UPS maintenance mechanic and vendor dispatches for scheduled maintenance as well as emergency repairs</li><li>Maintain an accurate record of the facilities inventory through Maximo/CMMS</li><li>Provide hands-on and remote support for conveyor or equipment related breakdowns and issues that arise during operations.</li><li>Generate reports outlining overall system effectiveness and reliability</li></ul><p> </p><p><b>Construction Project Management:</b></p><ul><li>Manage low to moderately complex construction projects, such as conveyor installations and facility modifications.</li><li>Ensure projects adhere to contract documentation, timelines, and cost control measures.</li><li>Provide drafting services for construction documentation i.e. AutoCAD 2D plans</li></ul><p></p><p><b>Qualifications:</b></p><ul><li>Bachelor's degree or international equivalent in Engineering - Required</li><li>Knowledge of facility maintenance and conveyor systems - Preferred</li><li>Programming experience including troubleshooting, basic understanding of networks, motor control theory, and operation including basic AC and DC electrical troubleshooting – Preferred</li><li>Exposure to/Understanding of Automation in some regards, preferably in relation to conveyance, sortation, and building systems – Preferred</li><li>Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and simple diagrams – Preferred</li><li>Familiarity with hazardous materials procedures and regulatory compliance - Preferred</li><li>Experience managing construction projects and ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets - Preferred</li><li>Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills - Required</li><li>Availability to work flexible shift hours, up to 5 days per week, with occasional weekend work i.e. overseeing major equipment shutdown/repair – Required</li><li>Proficiency in both French and English as the role involves communicating with personnel/vendors located inside and outside Quebec who operate in both languages - Required</li></ul><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p>UPS is a diverse and equal opportunity employer.
