Job Description
Laboratory Operations Management
- Oversee all routine and non-routine food testing workflows (microbiology, chemistry, residues, contaminants, etc.).
- Ensure compliance with ISO/IEC 17025, internal SOPs, and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Review and approve test reports, analytical data, and quality records.
- Manage equipment calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Maintain accreditation status and support internal/external audits.
- Lead method validation, verification, and continuous improvement programs.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) and monitor performance metrics.
Team Leadership & Training
- Supervise, coach, and develop laboratory staff to ensure technical competency and strong performance.
- Plan manpower allocation to meet TAT (turnaround time) and productivity targets.
- Promote a culture of safety, quality, and teamwork.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Communicate technical matters with clients, production facilities, and regulatory bodies.
- Support commercial teams with technical insights, new service development, and customer complaint handling.
Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
- Enforce laboratory safety protocols, chemical handling procedures, and risk assessments.
- Ensure a safe working environment and compliance with HSE policies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or related fields.
- Minimum 5–7 years of laboratory experience, preferably in food or agricultural testing.
- Strong understanding of ISO 17025 requirements and validation principles.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
