You will be joining our Trading Engine team which is integral to the BitMEX platform, managing all brokerage and trading functionalities. Our team is responsible for a range of critical tasks, including order management, risk checking, position keeping, PnL calculations, derivatives pricing, risk management, market data distribution, order matching, and settlement.  We are dedicated to building a best-in-class engineering team to scale the BitMEX trading platform for millions of users and millions of transactions per second.  <h2>Key Responsibilities </h2> <ul> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Design, develop and maintain trading engine systems and features such as risk management, pricing, and order management</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Work with quantitative analysts and product team members to continuously optimize existing and develop new models/algorithms to facilitate risk controls and improve user experience</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Maintain and optimize order management, margin and risk management systems</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Be able to work as a team as well as independently to gather requirements, plan and execute implementation and roll out</li> </ul> <h2>Qualifications</h2> <ul> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">5+ years programming experience writing quantitative / latency sensitive applications in Java </li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Excellent understanding of the fundamentals of modern software development (TDD, BDD, Domain-driven design, SOLID)</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Some experience at a Hedge Fund, Investment Bank, or Exchange developing financial trading applications would be beneficial</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Computer Science/Mathematics/Physics degree preferable</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Ability to not only implement product specification, but collaborate with stakeholders to add to and improve it</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Demonstrable analytical and problem solving skills, with an ability to break larger problems down and turning complex problems into simpler abstractions</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">A keen attention to details and edge cases as well as testing</li> </ul> <h2>Nice To Have</h2> <ul> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Experience in development of execution algos and risk management systems</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Finance knowledge in FX/Crypto spot and derivatives markets</li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Working knowledge of the KDB/q language </li> <li style="font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Working knowledge of containerisation using Docker/Kubernetes</li> </ul> <h2>Why BitMEX?</h2> BitMEX offers a dynamic environment that blends intense work, a vibrant culture, and diversity.
