Position Summary:


The Shipping Clerk will play a key role for DwyerOmega at our San Marcos Fluid Components International facility. The Shipping Clerk will be supporting the logistics operations by executing day-to-day shipping within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This entry level position is responsible for accurately preparing and processing inbound shipments, assembling and packaging finished goods, maintaining inventory levels of shipping materials and ensuring compliance with all safety and quality standards. 


Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Prepare and process domestic and international shipments using ERP and carrier systems (e.g., UPS, FedEx, DHL, LTL).
  • Verify orders against pick lists and packing slips to ensure shipment accuracy.
  • Assemble and package units according to company specifications and shipping guidelines.
  • Prepare and affix shipping labels, bills of lading, and other required documentation.
  • Coordinate carrier pickups and deliveries in a timely manner.
  • Conduct cycle counts of finished goods and shipping materials to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Handle return shipments to vendors, ensuring documentation and tracking compliance.
  • Enter shipping and receiving data accurately into the ERP system (Syteline preferred).
  • Maintain proper records for all outbound and inbound materials.


Requirements

Qualifications and Educational Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a shipping/receiving or warehouse role within a manufacturing setting preferred.

Essential/Preferred Skills:

  • Proficient in basic math and ability to maintain detailed, accurate records.
  • Familiarity with shipping software (UPS WorldShip, FedEx Ship Manager, DHL, etc.).
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel).
  • Experience operating material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks, but not required. 
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

Work Conditions and Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the shift (up to 80% of time standing/bending, 40% lifting).
  • Occasional exposure to varying warehouse conditions including noise, dust, and temperature fluctuations.
