Role: Sales Development Representative   (SDR)

Reports to: Regional Sales Director

FLSA: Non-Exempt

Location: Raleigh, NC 

  

Why is this role important at Genesee Scientific? 

The Sales Development Representative (SDR) is the engine of business development for Genesee. The role is responsible for virtually identifying and engaging potential customers to drive new business opportunities. Your primary focus will be identifying high-potential accounts, outbound prospecting, and booking discovery calls for our sales team.


What will you do: 

  • You will gain real-world experience, sharpen your skills, and build a career in sales. 
  • Identify, research, and engage decision-makers within prospective accounts
  • Engage business leaders, principal investigators and decision makers to understand needs
  • Book high-quality meetings for your Account Executives (AE)
  • Use Salesforce and sales tools to track outreach and update activity
  • Develop your sales skills and understanding of the life science market through hands-on experience, coaching, and structured training


Requirements

  

What you will bring: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, science or equivalent experience; recent college graduates are encouraged to apply
  • One year of sales or lab experience preferred
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively communicate at all levels of customer organizations and within Genesee
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with others to creatively solve problems 
  • Results orientated, strong work ethic and an ability to excel within a rapidly changing and growing organization
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications; experience with a CRM/Salesforce is a plus
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and effectively manage multiple priorities

Physical Requirements: 

Perform the following tasks, with or without reasonable accommodation: 

  • Primarily sedentary work on a computer at a home office or in a climate-controlled office environment
  • Regularly sit for extended periods, with occasional standing, walking, and lifting of up to 25 pounds
  • The role may have limited and periodic overnight travel, i.e. tradeshows, sales meetings, etc.
