The Toolmaker is responsible for constructing tools and fixtures for production use, operating conventional tool room equipment, and assisting apprentices. They also monitor tools on the manufacturing line to ensure efficiency and assist with tool maintenance.

Description
· Construct tools and fixtures for production use where no design is available, but can follow tool design drawings, layouts, etc.
· Operate all conventional tool room equipment and hand tools (trak machines, milling machines, lathes, surface grinders, hacksaws, precision instruments - micrometers, gages, etc.)
· Assist and instruct apprentices.
· Support tool breakages
· Assembling, fitting and repairing tools
· Monitoring the tools used on the manufacturing line to ensure efficient run rates and identify necessary repairs or possible improvements
· Assisting with tool maintenance
Requirements
· High School Diploma or GED.
· Reading, writing and mathematical level necessary to competently perform job duties.
· Requires full apprenticeship program
· Knowledge of CAD software a plus.
